Avoid Accident is an Indian road safety NGO working nationally to prevent road traffic deaths and serious injuries through evidence-based research, road safety engineering, policy advocacy, education, speed management, safe school zones, vulnerable road-user protection and post-crash response.

We work towards a Safe System approach to road safety, bringing together people, safe speeds, safe roads, safe vehicles, effective enforcement and timely post-crash care. Our work focuses on practical, evidence-based solutions that can prevent crashes, reduce crash severity and protect the lives of pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists, children and other vulnerable road users.

Our work spans road safety research, data and evidence, road safety audits, school-zone safety, pedestrian and cyclist safety, speed management, road safety training, policy advocacy, crash investigation, Good Samaritan awareness and support for road crash victims. We collaborate with government agencies, educational institutions, communities, industry and national and international road safety organisations to translate research into action.

Through our programmes and partnerships across India, Avoid Accident works to strengthen road safety policy, infrastructure, education and post-crash response and to promote safer mobility for everyone. Our approach combines field-level evidence with engineering, research, advocacy and community engagement to address the causes and consequences of road crashes.

Avoid Accident's road safety work has been recognised through national and international awards and collaborations, and our research and programmes have contributed to wider discussions on child road safety, safe school zones, speed management, vulnerable road users, post-crash care and road crash victim justice.

Every road user deserves to reach their destination safely. We place the protection of human life above convenience, speed or mobility alone.
