Identifying Risk. Prioritising Action. Making Roads Safer.
At Avoid Accident, we use evidence-based road safety audits and assessments to identify hazards, understand risk and recommend practical measures that can prevent crashes and reduce the severity of road injuries. Our approach combines road safety engineering, data, field assessment and the Safe System approach to examine how road infrastructure, speed, traffic movement and the surrounding environment affect the safety of road users. Our audits are designed not simply to identify problems, but to help stakeholders prioritise risks, develop solutions and implement measurable improvements. Evidence identifies the risk. Engineering addresses it. Action makes the journey safer.
Using the iRAP Star Rating for Schools (SR4S) methodology, we assess road safety risks around schools and identify measures to create safer school zones and safer journeys for children.
We assess roads, intersections and traffic environments to identify infrastructure and operational risks and recommend practical safety improvements.
We assess traffic movement, pedestrian–vehicle interaction, speed management and traffic management within industrial and workplace environments to reduce collision risks.
For creating an Inclusive Environment, it is particularly important to take measures to eliminate obstacles and barriers to indoor and outdoor facilities including schools, medical facilities, and workplaces as well as all public spaces such as roads, footpaths, parks and gardens.
